Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the internet! Where I intend to share everything from recipes, to life, to how I started my business and growing it too. My goal is to create a community where we can all learn from each other and bake fun things in the process!
Especially this time of year, everyone wants to set big goals for the next (and I will be doing that too!) but I really want to focus on reflection this week. It truly has been an incredible year, and without your support of my business, I wouldn’t be here today writing this so thank you!!
In 2024 I was able to put in my notice with my full time job I have been working for years. I picked up my life as I’ve done many times before and finally moved back to Jacksonville, FL where I have wanted to be since I left in 2022. (Plus the cottage food laws here are much more business friendly!) I picked up a side gig traveling and working food & beverage for golf tournaments like I had done many years previous to that, but with the intent to grow my business and eventually step away from that. This was the first time I have truly focused on doing something for me, that will help my end goals and not someone else’s! It was a big step, that sometimes I think I just didn’t take seriously enough and went for it with reckless abandon haha.
I never thought cookies would be my biggest seller!! I originally started this business in 2020 (quickly put it to the wayside when my job came back) doing custom cakes and party decor/planning for all my friends in Charlotte, NC. I thought I’d be the next big wedding cake maker, and then I picked up a cookie class and fell in love. I still can’t decide which is easier though, cakes or cookies. It depends on the day you ask me haha. I’ve done a lot of recipe development on both these past few months, and personally think I have some of the best out there! It has been so fun to experiment with different things, and I can’t wait to have my girls over at the beginning of the year for a decorating party and more recipe development.
